Estate Paths

We've lived on the same estate for much of our married life.  It 's construction started at a time when the town planners required design briefs to be submitted before the development should be commenced.  The brief set out how the estate would be laid layout and included green spaces and pedestrian areas.  Now, almost 35 years after construction started these walk ways are mature and provide green arteries running through the estate, joining the houses to a local park and nature reserve. I always find it hard to believe that either side of this track is a (relatively) modern estate.

I met up with a good friend early at her health club.  I was a member there for 15 years and it was lovely to see some of the staff and other members again.  We had a good old chin wag, sharing news and reminiscing.  She has taken a year's sabbatical from work to help her elderly parents to relocate down to Cornwall.  I know she isn't finding it easy.  They are both elderly, her father suffering with Parkinson's and the added issue of trying to clear the house of many of the belongings that have been collected over the years.  Her father has an extensive workshop, with an incredible array of tools, which he can no longer use, but equally is quite resistant to letting go of them.  Not easy.
