Lost?!
This afternoon I went up 'Blackford Hill' for my walk, just before it got dark, and do you know what happened?.............................. Ann lost me!
Now that I'm going a bit deaf and blind Ann tries to watch me at all times so that she knows where I am. …........And I'm supposed to keep an eye on her at all times. Anyway, what happened was.................. we were walking along a little path in between all the gorse bushes and I stopped to have a sniff. Ann carried on walking and when she turned round she couldn't see me, so she shouted me, but I didn't come. After waiting for hours a few seconds, she walked back to get me, but I wasn't at my sniffing place.
HUGE PANIC followed!!!
I'd run back down the path because I'd spotted a puppy spaniel that I wanted to play with. And then when I reached the puppy spaniel, he was playing with loads of other dogs so I decided to join in. But they were all en-route to the top of the hill via a different route to Ann.
Ann couldn't see me any where and it was getting dark and Ann didn't have a clue which direction I'd gone off in. She was calling and calling me but I didn't hear her because I'm going a bit deaf. I wasn't being naughty. OK I was being a little bit naughty cos I shouldn't have gone off to play with the puppy spaniel. I just didn't hear Ann calling me.
Eventually another dog walker said to Ann, 'Are you looking for a black and white collie? It's half way up the hill with a load of other dogs'.
Phew!!! …............Ann was so relieved she could have kissed the other dog walker, actually he was quite fanciable, but she didn't because she didn't want to waste time getting to me.
And this whole trauma probably lasted 3 minutes at the most!
