Mr Benn’s Lair?

After a full day (what’s new?) including preparing the initial thinking about the business plan for 2019-20 and what we can achieve with our resources, I headed off late to Falkirk.

Traffic flowed well so was not late for a learning evening event for Falkirk panel members. We had group discussions where people shared their experiences on 3 topics which were:teenagers; legal representatives and disruptive adults.

Some of the messages were that patience, empathy and gentle persistence - and occasionally silence - elicited views with some teenagers. The general view of legal representatives was positive with several examples of how the legal representative had helped facilitate the discussion. And where a parent was dominating the proceedings or becoming heated, there was often value in a brief adjournment.

Then a word search. And a few words from me. A very good turnout on a windy night.

I nipped to the loo before heading back home. I was a bit surprised to see what looked like formal robes (though they had seen better days) hanging alongside the yellow jacket. Although a bit too old to have seen Mr Benn when it appeared in the early 1970s, it made me think of him.
