Crested Caracara

What a fabulous day; moved to a new location on the Pacific lowlands of Costa Rica and after lunch we had a boat trip on the River Tarcoles. 

I have to say this was truly amazing and has to be for me one of the top but many amazing highlights of the trip. This is a crested caracara but we also saw  a bare-throated tiger-heron, boat-billed Herons (WOW), yellow-headed Caracaras, kingfishers, Ibis, spotted sandpipers, a black hawk and iguanas to name just a few of the top sightings. Terrific!!

Got back to the lodge and there was a power cut but we'd come prepared with torches and had dinner by lamplight. It soon came back on and with it the AC - hoorah!
