Mo

As they sometimes do, partings come in pairs. When we returned from Geraldine's funeral last Monday we heard of the passing of Mo, a friend of many years and a dear friend of Jo's. English by birth but living and working in West Cork for 40 years, Monica or Mo as she was known lived on Sherkin Island and ran the pub there for years before moving to the mainland. A gathering took place in Baltimore today of family, friends and islanders. Suffering ill health for some time, she felt the need to repay some of the support she'd received from medical science by donating her body to the anatomical gift programme at UCC. So today's gathering, in place of a funeral, helped us to remember Mo and celebrate her.
