Hedge after midnight
6.9C bright and clear. Feeling cold in the breeze.
Maeve the Deerhound and I had a very nice walk in the cold clear air today. In the field next to the one with the bridle path there were three tractors. One was busy cutting the hedge between the fields. The other two were ploughing. One behind the other and slightly offset. The field will be completely ploughed before the afternoon is out.
In the field with the bridle path the bales are being collected. There were lots on a trailer ready to be taken to the farm. Little by little the field is being ploughed and harrowed although I haven't seen any of the work in progress. Each day we have walked down the field since the end of last week the area is enlarged.
As we walked along the cycle path I could see 'Valhalla VI' back in the water and at one of the moorings. We didn't go down to the beach today, just walked along the shore road and round the rest of our usual route.
My blip today is an after midnight shot. Maeve had a long wait for her last walk last night! I like the way the branches of the trees that are in the hedgerows in this area grow after they are machine cut. Unintentional hedge coppicing. I thought they might work against the dark of the countryside with the yellow sodium street lights on them for the Calumet 'after dark' theme :-)
Later I must have the raspberry iced bun that was left from yesterday. No ! I shall have it now :-)
