A Village Remembers...
The outline of a WWI soldier placed beside the busy A272 on the Village Green in Newick, Sussex calls locals and passers-by to remember those who lost their lives in armed conflicts around the world, as we approach the 100th Anniversary tomorrow of the Armistice that brought an end to the Great War of 1914-18.
Today's 'Extra' shows the felt poppies, made by people living here in Newick, that have been placed around the Centenary Stone that was erected in 2016 to mark 100 Years since the Battle of the Somme.
