A day of fitba

First up - th P7 game v Parkside; a breezy day so we expected a game of 2 halves with the ball predominantly down in one corner. After a composed opening, we were 5-1 up at half time; we took off star man Rory and gave them another player and they had the advantage of the wind; and we still won the 2nd half 3-1. Happy boys all round; and well deserved; the experience is starting to pay dividends.

And then to Spartans; warmer and an almost idle hour. Well. For me anyway.

After lunch we jumped on a 16 and off to Easter Road; a pre birthday treat for Alex to see Hibs v St Johnstone. A decent crowd in to watch a tepid first half; St Johnstone happy to stifle; Hibs happy to choose the wrong option when in promising positions.
The 2nd half was better; more urgency from Hibs; but still it looked like a single goal would win it. Saintees hit the bar, then managed to have a penalty saved but they were not to be denied. In the 90th minute a free kick was zipped into the box and a flashing header ended up in the Hibs net; cue a mass exodus from the home fans. But the boys enjoyed the experience; and as evening gave way to night time, we shuffled through the dispersing crowd and home for some curry and a sit down.
