What’s in a name?

So, by 8am the day had been turned upside down.

Ruby rang to say she was ill and could we get her a doctors appointment.

Eve told us that parents evening was tonight and not, as we had all thought, tomorrow night.

Mrs S was due in Glasgow. I was due in Edinburgh for a meeting then beers.

So, beers were cancelled first. Then we tried to get a doctors appointment but the surgery is shut today for training.

Mrs S had to head off. I jumped into the shower, at which point the DHL guy turned up with a parcel - for Ruby. After signing that I jumped back in shower.

Just made it to the meeting on time. To receive news that the project was cancelled.

Slow crawl along Queen St which is being resurfaced then up to Ruby’s flat via the pharmacy. Hopefully she will make it into work tomorrow.

Home just before Mrs S. Immediately out to parents evening. At least that went well.

Tonight, there will be beer.
