Barr Loch

Brilliant weather today - dry and sunny. Cold but doing the garden at Lochwinnoch warmed me up. Lots to do tidying up the different areas for the winter.

Afterwards went for a walk along the Barr Loch path. A lot of pond weed has been washed up onto the path after it flooded with the heavy rains last week. I have never before seen so many swans and ducks on the loch. It was flat calm and visibility was very good. We counted 120 swans - mute and whooper and 3 Grebes. The other volunteer was going to walk round the other side to count the different ducks. I'll be interested to find out the numbers.
