Breeze of a Day

Apart from the weather summing up my title...it was also a breeze in other ways too!

Like the little man in Gilbert and Sullivans operetta......'We had a little list...and nothing shall be missed!' It's the only way to go when the days are flying by.

Gk has a thing about recycling old envelopes....and so they become the focal point of any errand, chore, shopping or important date that needs to be remembered and acted upon. Today we set out.....complete with envelope 'little long list and headed for port of call number one!

All ran amazingly smoothly....we were pleased not to be travelling on the opposite carriageway down the Sheikh Zayed Highway....there must have been a major accident somewhere and traffic was at a complete standstill. Good moment to have set up a mobile shop round to keep impatient drivers well stocked and fed. Lots of entrepeneurial opportunities here really!

The beauty of having been in Dubai for so many years is all the little back roads you remember that can channel an hour in a jam to just a few minutes on the minor tracks to reach the same destination. We know most of them but once traversed...you may need a car wash!!

A few deliveries, some chats, a snack stop and a trip to Dubai Mall to equip ourselves with waterproof boots having platform heels (at least an inch above water level!) to counteract the floods we anticipate when we arrive in UK! More deliveries, more chats, then home via the pharmacy to entertain a friend for 4 o'clock tea and hey presto......

Think we earned our Breezers for getting through this day in a sane frame of mind!

They were destined to be my blip!!
