Floody Hell

Well even though we have Flood defences put in place the road outside the works has flooded! The pump broke down that is supposed to pump the drain water back into the Severn and also they were too late closing the barriers at the end of the road. (Cannot blame them as they have been busy saving people's houses)

Hope it is open soon as this is a main road into Worcester, hence why the spent £500000 building up the banks to keep this flood water away! And the whole place gets extremely backed up with traffic when this road is closed!


Just found out som einterresting fact about the River Severn

It is the longest River in the UK and stretches 220miles from source to the sea.

The name Severn is derived from the Latin word Sabrina, previously Hafren in Welsh, which means "boundary". Its source is in the Plynlimon Mountains in West Wales and it flows through the counties of Powys, Shropshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, finally flowing into the Bristol Channel.
