Putiputi - woven flax flower

This morning I popped in to have a chat with Anna and see how she had got on weaving the bike tubes. She has been working in a public area for a few hours each day and had enjoyed the interaction with the public over the week. She had completed three panels using some different weaving styles and which will likely be used as a backdrop for an art display. (extra 1)  She explained about the different weaves which I found really interesting.  Today she was making putiputi  (flax flowers )I was really thrilled when she gave me the one in the main blip.  I used to make putiputi myself some years ago and I now feel inspired to try some more.
