Ferny glade
I spent a quiet couple of hours wandering through Holme Fen, a site I used to visit very frequently when we had dogs, but which has rather dropped off my radar in the last couple of years. This is one of my favourite parts of the reserve, a rather damp corner of woodland with scaly male-fern, common reed and saw-sedge growing below the birch trees, and stands of sweetly scented bog myrtle along the track.
