hanging around

Not a brilliant photo, but it's hard to focus on a moving bird when you're feeding it with the other hand. And this bird does move fast when he spies a handful of peanuts! He moulted at the end of the summer and is now growing his feathers back, and I guess that this, coupled with the cooler weather, means that more calories are needed. We keep a tub of nuts just by the door so he's always hanging around, just like I was this evening, waiting to take D to his yoga class at the Crichton. While he was there, I did the shopping and visited my friend Virginia.

Now it's time for us to eat :-)
