Beynac, Dordogne

The Dordogne is not short of beautiful villages.  Beynac is no exception. 
We enjoyed lunch in a restaurant beside the river before climbing up the steep twisting lanes for a spectacular view over the countryside and to see the medieval castle.

We also stopped off in Le Bugue for a coffee and a trip to the Intermarche.  There can't be many small towns where a man walks about with a llama, and tethers it to a bench while he busies himself doing something ..... a first for me, anyway!
