5 things I learned from my first job.

1. Sometimes you are the person who bags potatoes and rotten potatoes smell really horrible.

2. There's something, not too far from my surface, that just wants to steal stuff.

3. Some people are addicted to askit powder and think no one will notice that they buy four packets a day.

4. 'Ginger' in Glaswegian is a generic term for any soft drink - most likely to mean Irn Bru or coke - but not necessarily. Glaswegians think anyone who doesn't know that are fuds.

5. Nothing in the whole world feels better than getting your envelope and putting your own money in your purse, your shift done, a stolen mix-up in your bag and a bottle of ginger for the walk home.
