Cabo Mayor :: Dusk

Long exposure on a rock. Shame I hadn't brought another lens out, the sunset was also pretty spectacular.

Woke up (fairly) early considering the day of the week, and set about to finish the Biogeography project to a suitable degree. It was cold in the house, so we popped the heating on - before going outside and realising it was 20C and sunny. So we put that off again.

Went for a walk after lunch with Andrea, Julitte, and Claire - all the way round the Magdelena, to the Faro, before catching the bus back. It was hot enough to paddle in the sea, and be in shorts and a shirt. Amazing for the 24th November!! All due to the Föhn effect, which dumps rain on one side of the mountains, leaving the air dry and warmed for it's decent the other side. Normally, we'd be getting dumped on, but the wind was from the south, so we had the warm side. This can cause spectacular mountain cloud formations - like waterfall clouds - which you could just about make out in the far far distance over the Picos de Europa.

We were out so long that we saw the sun set (not as good as it could have been, clouds had set in by then but still a nice colour pallet) and it was dark for the way home. Caught the bus back, legs were complaining, and collapsed on the sofa.

Off to a house party later.
