Au revoir
On our return to the UK we dismantled the last things in the house, and this morning packed them into the van for last run to our new home in a new country. In the end everything but three items fitted in the van, one thing we gave to friends to give away via the local furniture charity and two office chairs will remain in England until we can get them shipped over.
I took this picture as we drove away, after handing the keys over to the estate agent. I nearly cried, we have loved living in the village and dearly loved our house and it is an awful feeling to be driven out of your own home because of bilious thugs, spouting fascist nonsense on the radio and TV. It's bad enough that there are people like that, but to think that the government is full of people like that is shocking.
After spending the day working at our friends house we took the van back to Portsmouth and crossed to France on the ferry. A long tiring day, but we have done it, I've left the country of my birth and I'm now a refugee living in a foreign country.
