This statue of a famous English footballer is outside the main stand which bears his name at the Wolverhampton Wanderers Football club.

I went to the Wolves v Nottingham Forest game at the Molineux Stadium with a friend this afternoon, squelching through the rain.

My team (Forest) won 2-1 and it was huge fun. I have hardly been to any away games for years and years but this was a great chance to see a really modern ground (with lots of civilised ladies' loos) and to enjoy a lively and good spirited game.

Of course, it helped that we won. And, Adlene Guedioura, the Algerian international we loaned from the Wolves last year scored against the club who had failed to spot his skills.

Smiles all round.
