New car
Oscar and Bailee were ecstatic this morning to discover their Uncle Rock in the spare room (I am not sure how ecstatic Uncle Rock was at that time in the morning). The twins enjoyed getting thrown in the air a few 'one more time's' and Bailee got a few extra cuddles to add to her bank.
Stu and Andy enjoyed some bacon for breakfast as they were feeling deprived. Because it is banned in Islam, you can't buy it in Kuwait (Where Andy and his wife Becky live). In Dubai you have to go to a special room at the back of the supermarket to buy pork products. Oscar and Bailee made sure they also got a share of the bacon.
That afternoon we went car shopping. 4 months of relying on taxis has become rather frustrating. We decided this was the weekend to make a decision. Basically we needed a vehicle that will fit 3 toddler carseats across the the middle row. We narrowed it down to a Ford Explorer, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse and Toyota Prado. In the end the best deal for the specs was on the GMC so Stu signed the deal. A bit scary as this is our second biggest purchase (After our house in NZ), ever! We are very happy with it as it also has 3 fold-down seats in the back and space for our buggy. It is a big car, so the rearview camera is also a bonus, especially because our apartment parking space is in a car parking building underneath. We chose a grey colour.
Decided to do a bit of random art with the twins using supplies Emily sent for them :-) They made a lovely card each with feathers, cars with googly eyes and gems on. When they had finished, Oscar could not help himself but to toss the gems across the room..... it took us all a very long time to gather them up again....
