Black-tailed Godwit
They never help the amateur photographer. Firstly they always hang around on the far side of the field rather than the nearer one. Then they never hold their head up being too busy feeding. All in all I am afraid one has to make do with this.
We were at Loch Sandary looking form and failing to find, another Lesser Yellowlegs. A Pied Flycatcher yes but no waders of interest.
The return journey at least provided a chance to visit the Westford for the first time since our return.
A calm morning and I was able to put up my bird nets and caught a Meadow Pipit that had been ringed already by the other ringer on the islands on South Uist. Always quite interesting.
Our normal Saturday evening run to the shops to buy the newspaper was thwarted by the ferry being late.
