Congratulations

Delighted to hear that Wellow’s new cricket pavilion has won an award as the best community initiative for the year in Hampshire.

The pavilion was opened earlier this year, as home to the Wellow and Plaitford Cricket Club and is the centre piece of a host of improvements at the village recreation ground to include a garden and seating area, alongside a new children’s playground.
The £30,000 project, was funded mainly by Test Valley Borough Council, and has included new showers and changing rooms, a bar and other facilities built into the pavilion.

The community initiative competition is run by Hampshire Association of Local Councils, and sponsored by Fullers Brewery.
