High Seas

Today’s container ship at DP World’s Southampton Container Terminal is another of the new generation of huge cargo carriers.
Launched only this year, the MOL Trust, operated by Mitsubishi OSK Lines, made her maiden call at Southampton in July, and arrived again today from the Moroccan port of Tangier on her voyage from the Far East. She left Hong Kong on September 17.
Weighing in at 197,500 deadweight tons, she is another of the new generation of massive cargo ships carrying goods between the Far East and Europe and in the opposite direction. She is 1,312 ft long and 200 ft wide.
She is due to sail from Southampton early tomorrow for Hamburg.
