Indian Summer.
A misty start to the day which then turned out to be a wonderful 24C hot and sunny.
As usual a very hearty breakfast.
Then to Holkham, and a walk from Lady Anne’s Drive through the pinewoods ( see extra) to the beach.
That wonderful sound of the geese flying in, and hundreds landing on the fields near the marshes.
Today it was just stunning. I know Holkham beach has been voted one of the best in the country, and you can see why.
Quite a lot of people about today. All enjoying the wonderful weather.
However this vast expanse is never crowded.
We just love it here.
Refreshed with a coffee in the new cafe, we then went on to Morston and a walk along the creek. As the tide was out the boats were left high and dry. ( see extra) No seal trips to Blakeney Point until tomorrow.
Next stop Salthouse and a walk along the shingle bank.
The sea today was calm. Such a change from last time we were here. I must say I prefer it when the waves are crashing in.
Finally a visit to Cley. ( see extra of the windmill)
Stopped off at the NWT for tea and cake, and saw a beautiful exhibition of wild life bird photography.
Some amazing shots.
Back to our B&B, and another walk to see the red deer which Allison had spotted on her run that afternoon.
Unfortunately they were no where to be seen, but we did see a couple of Roe Deer on our way back.
Tonight we went to a local village pub.
Steak and Kidney pudding cookedby the owner. Delicious.
Only went wrong twice getting there and back.
We just aren’t used to unlit narrow country lanes.
However the starry skies are fabulous.
No light pollution round here!
Unfortunately we are going home tomorrow.
We have enjoyed a wonderful few days away, and can’t believe how lucky we have been with the weather.
Thank you so much for your kind comments hearts and stars while we have been away.
I hope to catch up with you all soon.
