World's oldest football
This is the world’s oldest football, made from pig’s bladder, and it is to be found in the Smith museum, Stirling.
I re-visited the museum this afternoon, part of my rehabilitation programme to get back to a normal life after knee surgery.
Apparently the football was discovered in 1981 during work on Stirling castle having been lodged in the Queen’s Chamber. It’s dated 1537-1542.
