Every little tax dodge helps..
The picture above is of the nationwide supermarket Tesco including the catchphrase "every little helps" It again is linked with cooperate crime and the hypocrisy of their catchphrase "every little helps"
Tesco control over 30% of the UK grocery market and have over 2000 stores in the UK.
"Tesco was previously disclosed to be running a set of schemes involving partnerships and offshore unit trusts, designed to avoid up to £63m stamp duty land tax otherwise payable by the purchaser on property deals."
-D.leigh, 31/05/2008, Guardian online article
Tesco along with many other companies have managed to swindle there way out of paying UK tax, through the complex use of partnerships with foreign business they have managed to avoid paying £63 million in land tax and £16 million in cooperate tax.
To make allowances for their shameful behaviour Tesco has said they have done more for charitable causes within the UK such as the vouchers for school program which they hold yearly
"Tesco for Schools & Clubs is our long-running and very successful scheme that last year gave over 440,000 pieces of useful equipment worth a staggering £9.3m to schools and clubs around the country."
- Taken from the Tesco schools clubs website.
This is great charitable work even though it's completely based on the public purchasing products over £10 pound to get a voucher and completely ignores the other £76 million owed to the UK in land and cooperate tax.
Tesco with its manipulative slogan and tax avoidance scheme's really does give a whole different meaning to "every little helps"
