Diary of an Edinburgher

Sunrise at the beach

Up and out early to go to the beach this morning. The sky wasn't the nice pink of yesterday, but there was a definite tinge.

I must say, the beach is fantastic at that time of day. Just dog walkers out. Dogs having so much fun. I chatted to quite a lot of dogs and owners. And guess what - I met a wee Schnauzer, Chloe, who was going to her hairdresser today.

I did a few long exposures of the water using my new lens. That was fun, and I've learned lots. Like don't set up your tripod too near the incoming sea, as it comes in quicker than you think. Yes, I got wet feet a few times before I learned this completely.

There was a lovely sunrise away to the east, but when I got to the end of the beach, I turned around and saw dark clouds over the city and a rainbow. So I've chosen this as my blip today. I took one from this spot in May.

Back home, and what was a 10 minute drive in the car was an hour back on two buses. I've had my coffee, and it didn't touch the sides. I'm off to have another one, perhaps with some toast, and plan the rest of my day.

It's good getting up early now and again!
