The Giants!
Today I had a rather impromptu trip over to Liverpool to see The Giants! My friend who runs the sign language choir asked if I wanted a trip out to go and see them.
We came down the steps of Liverpool Lime Street station just as the Little Boy was walking past. Such perfect timing! We then caught a train over to New Brighton - along with thousands of people - to see the the Giant wake up from his shipwrecked sleep on the beach to wander through the crowds, before going to meet up with the Little Boy.
The scale of the Giant was just amazing and the puppeteers that worked his legs had to fling themselves off the scaffold onto ropes like wayward bell-ringers.
I've never seen so many people in my entire life and after 18,000 steps, I'm ready for a sit down.
EDITED: Some excellent photos here from the local press: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/gallery/38-pictures-incredible-first-day-15243436
Quote for today:
If I have been able to see further, it was only because I stood on the shoulders of giants.
