Complications

I have studied and photographed this clock for quite a while before dismantling it.  As cuckoo clocks go, it is top of the range with a cuckoo and various automata, the musical carousel, waterwheel, wood cutter and wood chopper.  The mechanism and linkages are ingenious but have to be finely adjusted or they don't work.

 In the morning I attended a training session on mail, telephone and doorstep scams.  All the other course members were health professionals who visit the elderly and vulnerable and who need to watch out for the tell tale signs of crime and victimisation.  With such crime costing £10 billion a year, only 5% of which is reported, this initiative is both worthy and essential.
