Not what you normally expect to see...

…in a harbour!  This is a sculpture by Rachael Long of ‘The Lifeboat Horse’.  Horses were once used to haul lifeboats out to sea, before mechanisation and so are an important part of lifeboat history.  Wells-Next-the-Sea was the last lifeboat service to use them and so is celebrated in this sculpture, part of the Wells Art trail which has just ended.

It was extremely chilly at the harbour and threatening to rain, so, once we had our photos, dear friend B and I headed to the ‘Raggedy Cat Tearooms’ for warm refreshment, see extra.

Apologies for not commenting on my fellow blippers entries for a while, usual story...migraines plus getting on with planting up our new garden before bad weather sets in.  I hope to catch up soon.
