This Day ---

"This day will be no more". I am reading Thomas Merton's journals and this line struck me this morning just before I posted yesterday's evening sun dropping. There is so much majesty in all we shoot - it is the stopping to take it in at a deeper level that is always the challenge with so much to sort through in lives.


And I have gotten shingles. Yes it hurts. I had the vaccine 4 or 5 years ago - but I advise all who have not and ever had chicken pox to get it because doctor says my case will be far less severe than if I had not. And that is sobering as this feels plenty much. It will pass but I did want to spread the word. Mine seems to have come from the cataract surgery, meaning my body's reaction to that stress - whatever, get the vaccine!
