'Messin' abaht' with gouache, instead of my preferred water colours, and applying the paint with pieces of rolled up kitchen towel, instead of using a brush, I wanted to show my students that a sketch book should be an experimental ideas repository of future art making potential, not a series of perfectly executed works complete in themselves, and that you can like the learning more than the result.

Meanwhile: Day 2 of blowy wind, heavy rain and less than 13ºC.  Not funny. It isn't October yet. If I wanted this kind of "autumnal" weather, I would've stayed in UK.
