Last Day in Glasgow

Dear Diary,

My last full day in this wonderful city. In the afternoon my friends Katherine and Martin came and took me to the fascinating “People’s Palace”, which has terrific exhibits of the history of Glasgow. There is a huge conservatory attached that had plants from all over the world. Across from the museum was the Queen Victoria fountain, erected in 1890. It is the largest terracotta fountain in the world and was recently cleaned. Just beautiful.

In the morning I went on my own back to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. There was an exhibit of art from WWI which I wanted to see. It hadn’t opened yet when I first visited at the beginning of my trip. I’ve added two collages from the museum.

Off to the airport tomorrow morning for the flights home. First to London/Heathrow and then on to Boston. As I love to say, “There’s no place like home unless it’s Scotland!”
