After the Deluge

Very heavy rain this morning. We drove to the supermarket to stock up on food. The roads were flooded in places. It finally stopped at about 4pm and the sun came out, so I took my camera and went for a wander across the nearby golf course and heath. There is quite a bit of woodland around - mixed, but mostly birch and I was amazed to see how many fungi there were. We've been here a number of times in the autumn, but never found a great many fungi before. I made the mistake of not taking my tripod (for the woodland fungi) and my binoculars for the birds I saw on the heath as I wanted to travel light. Perhaps we'll have a mushroom feast later in the week. This one would go well in the pot - it's an Orange Birch Bolete.
