So good to be walking in the woods with my own dog again! Out almost as soon as we awoke as it was such a glorious sunny day! We bumped into an old friend so as we caught up on each others news the dogs played! The other dog is a cockapoo called Scout. She is more relaxed than when I last saw her, she used to be manic! It was a shame I couldn't let Oscar off the lead to go chasing through the woods with her - bit too early! On the walk back we met a large lady with an equally large dog - she looked at Oscar and said how he was going to be a big dog which scared the bejesus out of me! When a big person talks big think huge!!!
Spent the rest of the day peacefully, lots of cuddles and play on and off with Oscar but for the most part he slept! Come the evening it was time to introduce him to the allotment and the hens! Well he walked round the plot ok but was not happy to be attached to the stake and long lead as I went in to do the hens. They were not happy with him either and had all run away behind the coop clucking in alarm when they spotted him! Having fed them I took Oscar onto my allotment - my beans and the fleece cage for my Romanesque cabbages had been blown flat from  the storm the previous night but otherwise everything else was all standing including Flora! Oscar seemed a little spooked so we walked once more round the whole allotment and back to the plot. Still not happy so I put him in the car whilst I did the chores and put the hens to bed. He was lying down peacefully on my return!
Bedtime was a nightmare! My mistake was taking him straight to bed after letting him wee in the back yard after waking him - he wanted to play! he kept putting his paws on my bed and pulling at my duvet! I decided ignoring him was the best policy and after a while he got the hint and settled - I had to restrain my impulse to reprimand him sharply through sheer tiredness! Tomorrow I will look up games to play with a puppy so I can  wear him out before bedtime! Thats quite good as it means I have to plan my bedtime rather than just going to bed when I feel tired. Routine for dog means routine for me - which I need as much as him!
I am going to try to blip Oscar maybe once a week to chart his growth and keep variety to my blips! So promise this is the last for this week! But oh gracious he is gorgeous!
