Brightness ....

... on a dull day.

Penstemon rostriflorus, which flowered prolifically in the summer, has put out a few new flowers.  A native of SW USA and California I was lucky to get some wild collected seed  from a seed exchange last year.  It's rarely cultivated in the UK but has proved relatively easy to please given a well drained, sunny spot sheltered by walls on two sides.  I've managed to collect a little seed which I hope will prove viable.  If so, I can raise more and share it around.

Wheelchair basketball, good to chat with friends and later some gentle pottering time in the garden.  More bulbs planted and little jobs progressed.

PS BIG thank you to all who liked yesterday's effort, especially those who put it on the edge of making the top Popular page :-)
