What a Beauty!

I only spotted this spider after taking a picture of the group of flowers you see on the left of the picture, and in the extra shot.
I'm no spider expert so I really have very little idea what sort of spider this is. A little Internet searching would suggest some sort of orb spider.  Any suggestions gratefully recieved.
We were once again driving through the limestone mountains today, admiring the karst scenery.
