No 8 and No 6

Part of our reason for being here in Britain just now is to sort out number 8, where Jan spent some of her teenage years. We've also spent a fair bit of time there together on our visits to the UK, visiting the family.  The house has been empty for over a year and cleaning, tidying and decisions are needed.
Despite the NW of England's reputed weather we were here for nearly two days before it clouded over and started to rain. (Right now I can hear rain beating down on the roof!)
So here is the back of number 8, (on the right) together with it's opposite twin number 6.
These houses were built in 1906. Constructed out of local stone they are impressive reminders of how well houses can be built. Even after a year of standing unheated in the somewhat damp climate the air/furniture/clothing felt dry.
As I looked at this photograph I realised the two houses are not identical twins. Perhaps this is a sign of the times when building was a craft rather than a science and/or a production line.
