Not Going Up Brean Down
I had the bright idea of going for a walk on Brean Down this morning' despite the forecast of strong winds. What I hadn't allowed for was that the Bristol Channel was acting as a funnel, making the winds even stronger on the coast here.
As it was difficult enough to stand upright at sea level, we decided it would be foolhardy to set off to the top of the Down and settled for a brisk walk along the beach and a fish finger sandwich and coffee in the National Trust cafe. The walk was bracing for September to say the least.
