Wrecks on the Swale
The remains of an old brick boat. There were two of these wrecks next to each other on the banks of the Swale looking over to the Thames estuary. This area of the Swale used to have many brickworks, the boats would take the bricks up to London and bring back ash from domestic fires. The ash was used in making London stock bricks which have that lovely yellowish/grey colour. Some boats also bought back horse dung from the streets.
The extra of the same area, very flat, rather desolate, lots of wading birds. In short, rather fine.
