Lonely

We are on the 27 hour crossing from Bilbao to Portsmouth. This morning, much to our astonishment, we passed through two bits of land. This turned out to be the island of Ushant and Brittany. Ushant is a lonely place, in winter it has a population of 850 and in the height of summer 2,500. It is surrounded by 6 lighthouses, 3 at sea and 3 on land. The water was churning as we went through the channel, obviously quite shallow.
The photo is not particularly good but l was trying to convey the isolation of the place.
