NE Cape Fear River

The river level is way up and it hasn’t even crested yet!

We slept on the back porch last night and although we only managed about 5 maybe 6 hours at the most of sleep, it was the best sleep we have had since the storm began.

I could make out hummingbirds at the feeder - they must be hungry as there are no blooms for them to drink from.

Spirit came and hung out on the railing and even MiniMe came and stayed for a while.

We had thunder and lightning to wake us very early and then there were three cats demanding breakfast.

We managed to get out of the neighbourhood today. We waited in line for two hours to get petrol/gas for the generator and then we went on to Kent’s work.

While Kent worked I was able to have a warm shower and then sleep in his air conditioned office. Made for a pleasant afternoon

They have both ends of our street blocked off now and there are lots of tree and power line crew working in various places. Hope that means power sometime tonight or tomorrow. We can wish.
