Good bake

Inspired by the latest series of the Great British Bake Off, which everyone was talking about and then I subsequently watched in its entirety one recent weekend in Jakarta, I made my first foray into the baking world today. (Ok I have made flapjacks before but they don't count.)

Under the watchful eye of a talented baker friend this was the end result: a sponge cake with lemon curd and cream, hand beaten and slightly mangled by bike transportation.

It was presented to another friend (who once had some bees in an apiary and is an avid Blip stalker) for being bloody brilliant. At the office the next day it received some good reviews, even being described as 'sensational' by one cake enthusiast.

I will bake again. Although hand beating is bad for perspiration.
