Large White....
.... at least I think it's a Large White; there are so many of these butterflies which are similar and I'm always reticent about making an i.d. This was what I wrote yesterday when I posted my blip but today JDO has identified the butterfly as being a Small White.
I'd thought the season was past for blipping butterflies but down at the canal today I saw quite a few - nothing exotic or wildly exciting but I always like the whites as I think they're so graceful as they sit feeding on the thistles. Amongst other things seen today were lots of juvenile birds of all types, easily recognisable by their untidy plumage; they're not pretty at this stage but still very very sweet.
Thank you for visiting my journal and for your comments. and stars they're very much appreciated.
