What a hard life!

'Mum Puss', as we call her, enjoys sun bathing.  She has lived around our house for at least 12 years and gets fed morning and evening.  She first appeared, together with a few kittens, in our garden - the kittens were in the dry stone wall.  Of course, seeing the kittens I had to put some food out and the word went out and we ended up with 7 mouths to feed.

Following contact with the Cats Protection all the cats were caught, neutered and returned to our garden.  Unfortunately four of the cats disappeared - we think they met their demise in a local building development and we were left with mum and her offspring's.

'Mum' continued to be extremely wary of us despite our attempts to stroke her over the years, but following the death of both her offspring's she cannot get enough 'stroking' and will constantly wrap herself around our legs.  She does occasionally wander into the house but does not like to have her way out blocked - that's the feral in her.

Although we go away every few weeks I always leave enough food with a neighbour who will feed her.

She certainly must be the best feral cat alive!!! - I think I will miss her when her time comes.
