New build on an old site

Garden grabbing is a contentious issue, but here is a new build on a old site which is fit for purpose despite its imposing presence.

I happened to be passing the house that was previously on this plot as the funeral cortege was leaving. I would never expected the house would have been demolished as it was a substantial detached property built in the 1950s.

The new owners had different ideas. They had a vision of a different house, a house designed to meet the needs of their disabled son. From the outside at least, they’ve made a good job. Lots of interest in the external facings: a new house with character.
