The Pelican Shakes
I think I am having pelican withdrawals. I'm sitting here shaking while I'm pecking at my computer. It's either that, or it's because my thermostat is set at 60F, and it's only 40F outside.
Long day. First to church, and then to a huge arts and crafts show at our local high school. I was one of 3 guys looking...along with...maybe...3000 women. I don't know about you, but I be liking them odds.
The odds weren't nearly that bad. I tend to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the facts to fit my storyline. But...there were a lot of women. I had to sit down once...overwhelmed by the constant onslaught of CHRISTmas sweatshirts and sweaters strolling by. This time of year...my wife calls me the Grinch.
It's funny how a piece of wood sometimes "talks" to you. I saw this piece and thought pelican. Now...if I could only draw. I traced one of my pictures onto the wood, and then painted it. The picture on the right was taken in the place we just returned from. I have a unique soffit in my den, and it is lined with some of my pictures and projects.
Plane travel is strange. One morning you're at the seashore with everything green and blue...and...the next morning everything is gray and grayer. Such is winter in Michigan.
75 days left until my next Florida trip!!! Maybe by then I''ll get over my pelican shakes.
