Diary of an Edinburgher

Interloper!

Elizabeth took Archie out today, much to his delight. And so JR and I headed for a dog-less lunch, at one of our favourites, Bodega. And what a fab lunch we had. The usual line up: tortilla chips with warm black bean and melted cheese dip to start, followed by butternut squash, tempura tiger prawn, and avocado tempura tacos (Extra). With an extra tiger prawn serving. Delicious!

JR then tempted me to come into town to examine closely an item of clothing she thought I would like/needed. After my beer and a nice lunch, I decided to humour her. It only took about five minutes in the shop to decide that, while it was nice, I could really live without it.

I caught the next bus home (JR stayed in town a bit longer), while I popped over to visit Uncle A. He had very exciting news! He's going to travel to France, to Arras, to see the war grave of a relative. He's always wanted to do this, and has been planning it for quite some time, avoiding the summer months. But he's off on Eurostar on Tuesday. He's planned it and booked it all himself, forgoing bus tours to the area. I do hope it all goes well.

He gave me a belated birthday present - this cushion! Archie was a bit suspicious at first. When he was a puppy he barked at first, but he’ll get used to the extra doggie.
