Setting Off
The 2.00 departure leaves Tywyn Wharf shortly before we did on our journey home. Well, what was supposed to be our journey home. All went well, including a stop in Birmingham to collect something of Ruth's, until we approached Huntingdon where we were literally turned back the way we had come by a roadworks related road closure that had not been pre-announced on the many overhead electric signs ... which did contain messages about other road closures but not about the busy A14 which we and many others were on. Grrr! A forty mile detour found us in Peterborough, heading for King's Lynn and then home but police road blocks due to accidents on the A47 thwarted us once again. Options are fewer across the fens and with both of us flagging I reluctantly looked for somewhere to stay. HA! No room at the Inn on my first five attempts! Finally, well past midnight, around ten hours after we set off, we found somewhere who could offer us their last remaining room!
Extra pic. This young sheepdog amused us while we were having our last train ride before setting off. You can make your own captions :-)
